THE PROBLEM

What Marine Distributors & Boat Owners Struggle With

The marine environment is the harshest application for any battery. Lead-acid and AGM fail in predictable, costly ways:

TECHNOLOGY COMPARISON

LiFePO4 vs Marine AGM: Built for the Water, Not Adapted to It

For marine distributors and boat builders, LiFePO4 cuts warranty claims from corrosion and deep-discharge failures while commanding premium retail pricing.

Parameter SafeCloud LiFePO4 Marine AGM
Cycle Life 6,000+ cycles @ 80% DoD 400–600 cycles
Waterproof Rating IP65 standard / IP67 available Splash-resistant only
Terminal Hardware Marine-grade stainless / brass, anti-corrosion coating Lead terminals, corrosion-prone
Voltage Under Load Flat discharge curve to 95% DoD Sags progressively under high draw
Weight (100Ah) ~12 kg 28–32 kg
Mounting Position Any orientation, sealed Upright recommended
Low-Temp Charging Heated BMS option to -30°C Restricted below 0°C
Self-Discharge <3% per month — winters on the trailer 3–10% per month
Warranty 3 years standard / 5 years OEM partners 1–2 years typical

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Marine-series enclosures are IP67-sealed against immersion, and terminals use marine-grade stainless steel or coated brass hardware tested against salt-spray corrosion (per IEC 60068-2-52 salt mist testing). We delivered a custom stainless-terminal IP67 build for a Swedish marine brand operating in Baltic conditions.

Our standard marine series is optimized for house and trolling loads. For starting/dual-purpose applications we offer high-CCA configurations with surge-rated BMS — specify your engine’s cranking requirements and we will match a BMS discharge profile.

In most cases yes, but we recommend a DC-DC charger between alternator and LiFePO4 bank to protect the alternator from sustained full-output charging. Our engineering team provides a wiring recommendation with every OEM proposal.

For Canada, Scandinavia and the Baltic we offer a self-heating BMS option that safely enables charging down to -30°C. The heater draws from the charge source, not the battery, so capacity is never sacrificed.

Yes — custom terminal hardware (stainless studs, Anderson, M8/M10), enclosure colors, silk-screen or molded logos, and retail packaging are all available from 50 units. NDA signed before any technical discussion.
