The FT-B series is the sealed version of our lead-acid replacement platform. Where the standard ABS range is rated for clean indoor installation, FT-B uses a metal case at IP64 for dust ingress and splashing water, which is what RV underfloor bays, boat lockers, agricultural machinery and outdoor cabinets actually require. Three models cover 1.28 kWh to 5.12 kWh on one charge profile family.

    Quote a model code, not a voltage class

    This page covers three models across two voltage platforms. Put a single model code on the purchase order so the enclosure, terminal and current rating that ship match what was quoted.

    IP64 is the reason to choose this series

    IP64 covers dust ingress and splashing water from any direction. It is not immersion-rated and it is not a substitute for an enclosure in a permanently wet location. Confirm the actual mounting position before specifying.

    Size cable to the peak, not the nominal

    Each model carries a 10-second peak at twice its continuous rating for motor and compressor inrush. Cable, fusing and busbar selection must be based on the peak figure.

    Charging below 0 °C

    Charging must not begin below 0 °C. Discharge continues to -20 °C. For cold markets, raise the low-temperature charge cut-off or self-heating requirement during quotation, before sample approval.

    Communication is not standard

    The FT-B series ships as a protection-BMS platform. If the project needs RS485 or CAN reporting to an inverter, specify it at quotation stage so the BMS and wiring are built accordingly.

Technical and purchasing FAQ

What is the difference between FT-B and the standard FT series?

FT-B uses a metal enclosure rated IP64 rather than an ABS case, and carries higher continuous and peak current ratings at the same nominal capacity. Choose FT-B when the installation position is exposed to dust or splashing water.

Can I connect FT-B units in series or parallel?

Send us the intended topology at quotation stage. Series and parallel limits depend on the BMS build for your order, and we confirm them per configuration rather than publishing a blanket figure. Use identical models at matched state of charge with identical cable lengths.

Is there a communication port?

Not as standard. Communication is available as a configured option — specify the protocol and the target inverter at quotation so the BMS is built and tested for it.

What does the 10-second peak rating mean in practice?

It is the current the pack will supply for motor starting and other inrush events, at twice the continuous rating. It is not a duty-cycle rating; sustained operation must stay within the continuous figure. This model is rated IP64.

Which certificates are available?

Pack-level CE, FCC, UN38.3 and MSDS. Tell us the destination market and we will confirm which certificates name the exact configuration you are ordering before you place the order.

What information do you need for an OEM quotation?

Model code, quantity, target market, continuous and peak current requirement, optional functions, logo or label files, documentation scope and target delivery date. For this model: 5 years / 6,000 cycles, to 70 % capacity retention.
